In a gathering that promoted medical collaboration and knowledge exchange, the Australian Islamic Medical Association (AIMA)’s Newcastle branch hosted the Clinical Updates in Medicine event on Sunday 11 February 2024. Held at Noah’s on the Beach in Newcastle East, the event drew a crowd of over 60 dedicated healthcare professionals and medical students.

Throughout the day, attendees were treated to an array of engaging presentations, each delivered by experts in their respective fields:

  • Approach to Headaches by Dr. Saif Al Kadhi.
  • Haematological Malignancies in Older Adults by Dr. Asma Ashraf.
  • Early Infancy to 6 Weeks Follow-up by Dr Ahmed Khan.
  • End of Life Matters: Approach and Going Forward by Dr Abdulrazak Mohamad.
  • Vulval Skin Disorders by Dr Rehena Ahmed.
  • Capacity Assessment by Dr. Shahzad Gul
  • Managing Heart Failure by Dr Mohamed Al Omary.
  • “Bad Bugs No Drugs”: Antimicrobial Stewardship in Community and Residential Aged Care by Dr Aysha Akram.
  • Adding to the ambience of the event, attendees received a refreshing morning tea and savoured a delectable lunch, followed by Dhuhr prayer.
