AIMA has partnered with the Companion House ACT a community based organisation which works with adults and children who have sought safety in Australia from persecution, torture and war related trauma. With the aim of alleviating inequalities AIMA has constructed a referral pathway for patients to receive direct pathways to specialist medical practitioners. Currently there are 2 urologists, 1 respiratory physician, 1 cardiologist, 1 nephrologist, 1 general surgeon and 2 psychiatrists who are involved in receiving direct and prompt referrals.
Ramadan Donation Drive
AIMA ran a donation drive for the Companion House Canberra to provide food for refugees and asylum seekers during a month when many had lost work due to COVID-19. The donation drive collected both food and money.
