Dr Yousuf Ahmad

Yousuf H. Ahmad has been a Family Physician and procedural generalist most of his professional life. He is a General Practitioner with specialisation in health professionals education, primary health management and governance of not for profit organisations. He is a GP supervisor involved in training and mentoring of registrars and international medical gradates for over 20 years, as well as medical education of students from University of Melbourne, Monash University and John Flynn Scholars. He has served many years as a Director and then Chair of East Gippsland Primary Health Alliance, as Deputy Chair and Board member of Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, Victoria. He has been the Chairperson of Board of Directors, Rural Work Force Agency, Victoria (RWAV). He is also the Recent past Chair of Muslims Health Professionals Australia (MHPA) and United Leaders Forum Australia

Participated in vesio-vaginal fistula repair camps in Tanzania and several Urological Surgical camps in Pakistan and Kashmir.

Dr Noor Suhana Mohd

Dr. Mueed Mian completed his medical degree at the University of Melbourne and trained in rheumatology and general medicine at Austin Hospital, Northern Hospital, and The Royal Melbourne Hospital. He is the co-founder and director of Epping Specialist Group and serves as the Director of Physician Education at the Central NorthWest Consortium at Northern Hospital. Dr. Mian is deeply committed to medical education and has previously been a tutor at the University of Melbourne medical school. Currently, he holds public appointments at Northern Hospital as a Consultant Rheumatologist and General Physician. Beyond clinical practice, he has also contributed as an advisor to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Dr. Mian is the Coordinator for the AIMA Conference 2025 program.

Dr Mustafa Majeed Omar

Dr Mustafa Majeed Omar is emergency medicine specialist (FACEM) in Newcastle, NSW He is also an AFRACMA and studying MBA in Healthcare management with Deakin University. He can speak a few languages (English, Hindi, Urdu, Tamil and Kutchi)

Dr Muhammad Ashraf

Muhammad Ashraf has been working as a general surgeon and endoscopist for nearly 2 decades. He has previously been a senior lecturer at the James Cook University School of Medicine and is currently actively involved in the teaching of medical students, junior doctors, and trainee registrars. Dr Ashraf gained extensive experience in general and trauma surgery in South Africa. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He has volunteered for many free surgical camps in Pakistan and Kashmir under auspices of Islamic Medical Association of Queensland. Muhammad has previously served as the President of the Islamic Society of Mackay and is very active in his regional Australian community, working to improve Islamic advocacy in the area. He looks forward to working with the Australian Islamic Medical Association.

Dr Amir Zayegh

Amir is a Neonatal Consultant working at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne. He studied Medicine at the University of Melbourne, and has completed a Masters of Practical Ethics at Oxford University and a Fiqh of Medicine course with Al Balagh Academy in the UK. His interests include Bioethics and Islamic Ethics, and point of care ultrasound. He looks forward to working with the AIMA community to develop spiritually uplifting peer support and education opportunities, and to contribute to improving the health literacy and outcomes of the Muslim and wider Australian community.

Dr Sara Yusuf is a GP in Western Sydney with a special interest in women’s and reproductive medicine, and a focus on a holistic approach to patients’ health care journey. She is a GP training supervisor and is involved in health advocacy with the RACGP and the Western Sydney Primary Health Network.

His clinical background, experience in teaching biomedical sciences, scholarly endeavours in higher education and leadership roles – have all enabled him to contribute to the integrated and innovative models of health professions education.

Dr Majid graduated from Pakistan’s University of Punjab in 1993. Moved to Australia in 2002. He has been working as a General Practitioner since 2004 in Queensland. He has worked in South Africa before moving to Australia. Dr Majid had the opportunity to work in Saudi Arabia as well. He has had the honour of working with Pakistan Islamic Medical Association and Islamic Medical Association of South Africa.

Dr Mohamed Elwakil

MBChb, FACEM,FRCEM, EgyBEM, EBCEM Mohamed Elwakil is an Emergency Medicine Specialists in Adelaide, South Australia He is Master of Clinical Simulation and GradCertClinSim from Monash University Originally from Egypt, where he did most of his training before moving to Saudi Arabia and ultimately settling in Australia. While in Egypt, h ehave been actively engaged in Islamic charity organisations, Egyptian Medical Syndicate, and community services. Currently interested in teaching junior doctors in Australia and overseas.

Associate Professor Justin Brown

Justin Brown is a paediatrc endocrinologist who has been working in Victoria for the last 20 years. He trained in UK and is a member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health UK and a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. He is an associate professor in the Department of Paediatrics of Monash University and oversees the teaching and assessment of children’s health in the Monash MD course.

He has been on the board of Muslim Health Professionals Australia and two Islamic school boards in Melbourne. He looks forward to continuing his work with Muslim health professionals through the Australian Islamic Medical Association

Senior Physiotherapist, Melbourne Yousuf Syed is a sports and musculoskeletal physiotherapist. He serves as a physiotherapist and team leader in the private sector, where he supports a multidisciplinary allied health team that provides homecare and NDIS services. Additionally, he offers consultations at a private practice located in Point Cook.

Professor Abdel Latif Mohamed

Latif Mohamed is a neonatologist at the Canberra Hospital. He is also a professor of neonatology at the Australian National University (ANU) Medical School. Dr. Mohamed serves as the Chair of the Paediatric Research Committee and is a council member of the Paediatrics & Child Health Division (PCHD) of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP). Dr Hasan Farooq

Proud father of 3 boys. Emergency Senior Staff Specialist at Canberra Hospital’s Emergency Department. Co-Director of Training for the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine program, and Acute Care Block Chair at the Australian National University. Hasan has extensive experience as an emergency specialist and academic in Australia and overseas. He has been an active AIMA member for 3 years.

Professor Muhajir Mohamed

Muhajir Mohamed is the Director of Pathology & Clinical Haematologist at Launceston General Hospital and is an Associate Professor at the University of Tasmania.
He obtained Haematology speciality qualification in India, followed by Fellowships from Royal Australasian College of Physicians and Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia.
He is the Chair and Clinical Lead for Blood Management Committee and the Head of Bone marrow Transplantation Committee for Northern Tasmania and is an active member of American Society of Haematology, Haematology Society of Australia and New Zealand and Australia Lymphoma and Leukemia Group.
He is involved in clinical trials and research in haematology and has over 40 publications in national & international journals. He is also a reviewer for peer-reviewed haematology and medicine journals.

Dr Fahad Ashraf

Dr Fahad Ashraf a dedicated healthcare professional committed to enhancing lives through exceptional medical care and community initiatives. A graduate of Allama Iqbal Medical College, Pakistan, he completed advanced training in Internal and Stroke Medicine under the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. As a Stroke Specialist and Medical Consultant in Perth’s leading metropolitan hospitals, he delivers cutting-edge care to improve patient outcomes. Beyond clinical practice, he actively organises free medical camps and prevention programs to address healthcare disparities. Since 2022, he has collaborated with AIMA to empower medical professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, growth, and holistic well-being.

Dr Mohammed Sohail Hussain

Dr Mohammed Sohail Hussain graduated with Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Raichur, India in 2004. Moved to Australia and passed ADC exams. Has practiced in Mackay QLD, Collie WA and now in Bunbury WA. He runs is own private practice catering to the needs of the the town. His special interests are Implants, Smile makeovers at the same time laying a strong emphasis on prevention and maintenance of Oral Hygiene. Outside of practice , Dr Sohail is actively involved with Bunbury Masjid and engaged in Muslim community events.
