AIMA South Australia brought together over 41 women from across the community on 2 May 2026 for a Community Health Education Session focused on Breast Cancer Awareness and Women’s Health, held at Good Social Café in North Adelaide.
The session featured three guest speakers sharing their expertise across key areas of women’s health. Marita Aldridge, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) Project Officer at BreastScreen SA, spoke on breast cancer awareness and the importance of regular screening. Dr Fatima Ashrafi, Specialist Obstetrician & Gynaecologist, addressed perimenopause and menopause, covering common symptoms and available support options. Angelica Hazel, Women’s Health Nutritionist and Natural Fertility Educator, rounded out the program with insights into nutrition, hormones, and overall wellbeing.
The afternoon concluded with an interactive Q&A session, giving attendees the opportunity to engage directly with the speakers and ask questions in a supportive, community setting.
The strong turnout reflects the community’s appetite for accessible, culturally sensitive health education — and AIMA SA looks forward to building on this momentum with future sessions.
