On Thursday, August 1st, AIMA WA Student, in partnership with AmnestyUWA and the Palestinian Cultural Society UWA, hosted Sweet Solidarity Bake Sale for Palestine at Oak Lawn, University of Western Australia.
The bake sale featured an impressive array of 16 different baked goods, skillfully prepared by committee members from AIMA WA Student and AmnestyUWA. From gluten-free brownies to pandan cakes, all crafted with care to support a crucial cause.
Despite challenging weather conditions, with heavy winds and rain, the event attracted a strong turnout of students and community members. This gathering not only provided delicious treats but also served as an important platform to raise awareness about the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
Thanks to the generous support of attendees, Alhamdulillah the bake sale raised $1,558.26. These funds have been donated to Olive Kids, an Australian foundation dedicated to supporting Palestinian children.
The event would not have been possible without the dedicated efforts of the AIMA WA student and AmnestyUWA committee members.
